Bacteriostatic water is sterile water preserved with 0.9 % benzyl alcohol (Ph. Eur. grade). In the laboratory it is used to reconstitute lyophilised material. The preservative allows a vial to be entered repeatedly over its stated in-use period. Supplied in 3 ml or 10 ml vials; store at room temperature. For laboratory research use only – not for human or veterinary use.
